Vibe Therapy Chrysalis Pantie Vibrator Review

Vibe Therapy is a range of sex toys designed for women and couples, mainly. These vibrators, dildos, anal toys and double enders are made from high quality materials such as medical grade, hypoallergenic and non porous silicone and ABS plastic trim or handles.

The Vibe Therapy Chrysalis is quite new to the range and is a pantie style vibrator. For those in the UK, this means it goes in your knickers.

The silicone sex toy is shaped to make it more comfortable while in the new home of your gusset. There is a broad area, which is finished with the bullet power button, while the other end tapers to an angled upwards, rounded tip. The surface facing upwards has four raised bumps, presumably for more stimulation to your nether regions during use, helping the vibrations travel through the material and more effectively stimulating you. The narrower end sits against your perineum, while the bullet button end sits to stimulate the clitoral area, and facing upwards.

Thinking through my sex toy collection, I don’t think I own any other sex toys that fit in my knickers, which aren’t remotely controlled in some way. Or at least, have a wired control so I can activate the vibrations without reaching into my knickers. There’s a reason for this.

Once the Vibe Therapy Chrysalis is on, and at whatever setting you desire, there is no way to change the setting or quickly turn the sex toy off without rummaging around in your pants. So you have a choice. Either turn it on, sit it in your knickers and get your rocks off at whatever setting that is – having to then fiddle to remove the vibe and turn it off after orgasming instead of flopping into a satisfied heap immediately – or fiddle around at various points during your Chrysalis session trying to find the power button on the end of the bullet without feeling like you’re part of some bizarre sexual pantomime.

Neither of those options are really appealing.

On top of that, the silicone muffles the power from the bullet vibrator, which isn’t the best in the world to start off with. I don’t know if you can tell, but I’m really not very impressed with this sex toy.

One plus point is that the bullet vibrator is removable. So you can use it separately from the toy. Good. I don’t really spend my masturbation sessions twitching to something vibrating hands free in my pants, nor do I want to leave the house with a vibrating knicker resident that I can’t control or turn off when I need to.

A clitoral bullet vibe is great. But of course you can purchase those separately, more powerful than this one and at a lower price.

Another plus point is that the whole thing is waterproof. However, I don’t wear knickers in the bath (I know, I ‘m strange, right). You can of course use the bullet vibrator in the bath or shower, but I would choose another, more powerful bullet vibe for this.

You could, thinking about it, use the Chrysalis vibrator inside a bathing costume (why yes I am from the 1920s) which would explain the waterproof bonus. There is once again the issue of looking like you have ants in your pants as you adjust the settings or ensure that it’s positioned correctly, of course. Not sexy.

How is it powered? Watch batteries. I shouldn’t really have to say any more on that one – you all know my feelings on those, by now.

There are 7 functions to the Chrysalis, 3 speeds, 3 pulsation settings and an escalation setting. The functions are quite quiet, which of course won’t help with discretion in public if you have to fiddle around in your knickers to position/turn it off anyway.

As far as a masturbation toy goes, I always go for something else. This really isn’t my cup of tea – I want something that will deliver the entire experience, not lead to frustration and ultimately, orgasm denial. I know that’s the pinnacle of pleasure for some people, but when I sit down (lay down, stand, whatever) to masturbate, an orgasm is necessary at some point.

Shocking!

Anyway, if you’d like to try out the Vibe Therapy Chrysalis for yourself, you can get yours here at Simply Pleasure for £13.20 (RRP £22).

Thanks Simply Pleasure for providing this sex toy to me free of charge, in exchange for an unbiased, honest review.
