“Enjoy good vibrations and sensuous stimulation with the all NEW Vibe Ring from the UK’s fastest growing condom brand, Skins.

Compact, discreet and deliciously powerful, this innovatively designed vibrating ring will be sure to get your senses tingling and your body begging for more!”

That’s what Skins Condoms have to say about their brand new disposable vibrating cock ring, the Vibe Ring. I was sent one free in exchange for an honest and fair review, so here are my thoughts.

The Skins team went the extra mile in presenting this new product to me, with the Vibe Ring box and a USB flash drive (with official image and press release) both contained in a sleek black gift style box with red tied bow. The Vibe Ring packaging itself (on the box you’d buy from a chemist or online) is colourful and happy, although the purple is fast becoming a very common colour for sexy-time products.

The box was wrapped in easily removable cellophane and the ring itself, inside the glossy cardboard box, comes in a foil tear wrapper reminiscent of a condom wrapper. Two happy reassurances about the complete hygiene of this product.

Once you remove the ring from the wrapper its quite clearly a very stretchy, comfortable cock ring. The translucent stretchy ring is quite slender but surprisingly durable and in the top centre is the vibrating area. This comprises of a plastic covered motor with a side switch, which is removable from the TPE covering. The front part which covers this area has raised nodules, undoubtedly for her stimulation during sex, and the inner part of the rind has some ridges which are meant to help keep the ring in place.

There’s an on/off switch to the side which will in no way turn on by accident. I needed to use my talons to ‘scratch’ the switch to an on then off position. I suppose this means that you’re not going to run out of any vibrating juice by accident, but you do have to be quite precise about turning it off after the sexual event.

The battery is included, it’s inside the motor and not replaceable as far as I’m aware. This is a disposable product. The vibrations are advertised as lasting between 30-40 minutes.  The overall width of the product – measurement across – is 1.4 inches. The hole diameter is 1 inch. These are of course the unstretched measurements – this is a very stretchy ring and I don’t see it not fitting any size man out there.

The Vibe Ring isn’t waterproof but that’s ok – it’s a £4.99 disposable sex toy and I’m not too bothered that I can’t use it in the bath or shower.

I would call this a ‘gateway’ sex toy – if that doesn’t raise too many negative connotations. It will suit couples who are new to sex toys and for whom an extra buzz will cause excitement and a stir of arousal even before the session truly gets going. The ring is easy to fit, easy to use – and it’s comfortable for both him and her. I did need to apply some water based lubricant around the clitoris area, as the TPE against dry skin can chafe uncomfortably otherwise. So grab the lube!

Our Vibe Ring lasted through three sessions, with a spritz of anti bacterial sex toy cleaner between uses. I can’t say I timed the sessions, but altogether I would say that 30-40 minutes max is a good estimation of the length of time the motor will last.

The vibrations from this cock ring aren’t in the style that I personally like, but I am a fussy lady when it comes to sex toys! It’s quite a high frequency, tinny buzz rather than a rumbling, deep vibration. If you have a clitoris that peaks on light, fluttering sensations then this will suit you more.

The raised nodules were a nice added touch and didn’t hinder the vibrations too much  – but then I was concentrating on having sex at the same time to be honest. The internal ridges to keep the ring in places are a bit unnecessary in my opinion, but still rather thoughtful. The stretchiness of the Vibe Ring (did I mention it’s stretchy yet?) keeps the ring securely in place.

After the battery has totally died, just dispose of the Vibe Ring in the normal manner. If you’d like to give this vibrating cock ring for couples a try, you can buy the Skins Vibe Ring from Skins Condoms here for £4.99.
