Nalone Curve 7 Function Touch Control Clitoral Vibrator Review

I was contacted by Lovehoney to see if I’d like one of the new range of Nalone toys that have landed over at their sex toys site, in exchange for a fair and honest review. After the usual professional contact, I chose the Nalone Curve Clitoral Vibrator. I’d been informed that not only are the Nalone range luxury sex toys, rechargeable vibrators and everything I’d love, expect and demand from an adult product, they are also innovative and unique. Why? Well, they offer touch sensitive technology.

Understandably curious (and not a little cynical), I awaited the arrival of the Nalone Curve. I like my clitoral stimulation so chose an external vibrator this time round. The Nalone Curve soon arrived in a discreet box, well packed and ready to be enjoyed.

The Nalone Curve vibrator comes in quite lavish outer packaging, with a glossy card sleeve holding the main interior box, all hygienically sealed upon arrival with heat sealed plastic. Ripping off the thin layer of plastic, you can see the outer card sleeve more clearly. It clearly informs you about the contents, letting you know the materials, use and style of sex toy you now own. Also that it’s not to be sold to under 18s! Which made me laugh wryly. A shame this had to be pointed out!

The Nalone Curve retails for £79.99 so I was keen to see the product and form my first impressions. I must say I wasn’t immediately overwhelmed by the peachy-pink box that I slid out from the card outer. It is marked with the Nalone logo and has a ribbon at the bottom, indicating that you lift the lid to discover the contents.

Opening up the box, the Curve vibrator was sat in the creamy white satin covered foam insert made to house it. There is a mini catalogue of the Nalone range, as well as the warranty card (1 year from purchase) and instruction manual. I slid out the little white ‘Nalone’ stamped box at the base of where the toy sat and inside, found the USB charging lead and a branded, purple suedette drawstring top storage pouch.

Taking the Curve vibrator from the box, I immediately liked the silicone material. It’s incredibly smooth and feels fantastic in the hand. What I didn’t like so much was the garish, almost neon pink colour. It’s not like the dusky pink/almost purple colour from the product picture, so perhaps a new image would be an idea, guys.

Another small item of note was that the internal, satin covered foam insert was, indeed, very protective of the toy during transit and would make a safe, cute unit to store the Curve vibrator in between uses, if I didn’t want to use the storage pouch. Unfortunately it’s slightly coffin-esque. I’m trying to think of it as bridal. Somehow with the creamy satin, the indented area and a lidded box it just comes off as a mini coffin. Perhaps I’m just *that* goth.

The Nalone Curve is made from genuine silicone (yup, I flame tested it) with an ABS core for rigidity. There is an ABS plastic (silver metallic) branded surround to the control panel on the front. The small charging port is at the bottom of the back of the toy, marked ‘DC’ and quite evidently waterproof.

Before use I had to charge up my new vibrator. The jackpin lead was easily pushed into the port made for it on the toy, while the other end fits into any of your USB ports (PC, laptop etc) or could be used with your existing USB to mains wall plug, if you prefer. I leave a new toy charging up overnight, they generally take about 6-8 hours on their first charge.

The lights behind the control panel buttons flash as it’s charging, which is not only quite novel but lets you know everything’s connected and charging up just fine.

Once I had the Nalone Curve vibrator charged up, I was ready to go with trying it out. There are 7 functions on the Curve, which I describe as follows:

  1. Low constant vibration
  2. Medium constant vibration
  3. High constant vibration
  4. Pulse vibration
  5. Oscillation/wave vibration
  6. Dot-dot-dash vibration
  7. dot-dot-dot, dash-dash-dash vibration

The touch sensitive mode is the highest constant vibration. Perfect!

To turn on the Nalone Curve vibrator, you need to press and hold the central power button for 2-3 seconds. The buttons will light up to let you know it’s on. Press the + at the top to scroll through the 7 standard vibration settings. Press and hold the T button at the bottom to switch to the touch sensitive mode.

To turn off the Nalone Curve, press and hold the centre power button once more, for a couple of seconds.

As it’s made of silicone, it’s only compatible with water based lubricants. Silicone lube will damage the material and I wouldn’t risk oil or other types either. Water based is the way forwards here.

When it came to using the Nalone Curve, I did enjoy it. There are only a couple of negative points for a mountain of positives.

The Curve vibe sits so comfortably in your hand. There’s no seam on the material, so it’s extra comfortable. The central control panel is raised, making it superbly easy to find and use, no matter what position you’re in. The buttons light up to let you know when it’s charging and which one you’re on.

Amazingly, the touch sensitive mode actually works! Off when away from the body, and on constant high vibration when I put it against me. I still can’t figure out where the sensors are or exactly how it works but that’s not my job I guess. The important fact is that it works.

The range of vibrations are varied enough to please the vibe lovers or those unaccustomed to vibrations and in experimenting stage.

The vibrator is waterproof (tested during a very deep bath AND in the shower), incredibly quiet, rechargeable and comes not only with a warranty and storage pouch but a box that can be used to store everything in, long term.

On the other hand, the pink is very garish for my tastes, and the top level of vibration could be stronger, for me personally. However I do have a ‘thing’ against bright pink sex toys and I am the world’s most demanding power Queen when it comes to vibrations. It did get me off, but it took a while and I am an impatient lady!

Is it worth just shy of £80? As it has the touch sensitive technology, yes. It’s a waterproof, rechargeable sex toy with many vibrating modes and all the accessories you’d expect a luxury sex toy to come with. Without the touch sensitive mode I would value this about £10-15 cheaper.

Overall, a luxurious addition to the sex toy world and I look forward to trying more Nalone sex toys and vibrators.
