Evolved Bendable You Too Vibrator Review

evolved_bendable_you_too-2

So we come to a sex toy which I would not have chosen for myself: I was disappointed when it arrived, disappointed once again when it passed a test I’d expected it to fail, then hated having to admit that it does in fact make me orgasm each time – if I use it in a certain way.

The Evolved Bendable You Too vibrator.

Goodie Drawer, a sex toy shopping website, contacted me to request a product review. I said sure, send me something and I will review it for you. If they send them, I will come! Anyway, a few happy emails and a couple of days later, I received a discreetly wrapped package, inside which sat the Evolved Bendable You Too vibrator.

As I think I’ve just made clear, this sex toy was sent to me free of charge, for the purposes of an honest and fair review.

First Impressions

Oh, god, no.

It’s ‘sex toy purple’.

It looks like it’s jelly.

How the hell am I supposed to use this thing?

Is that…? Yes, it is. A wired controller. What is this, 1995?

Upon removing it from the domed package, I thought back to my prior experiences with Evolved sex toys. They’re an ok range, as far as I could remember from retail sales – a little high on price, a little low on quality – fairly mid-range overall. Not luxury but not entirely pants. My personal experience of Evolved came (or rather, didn’t) with the Evolved Rose vibrator. As you can see, I wasn’t impressed.

Do I have spoilt sexual areas or is everyone else just much more sensitive than me? I can only report as I find.

Anyway, the Evolved Bendable You Too vibrator (what a mouthful) can be used in quite a number of ways, by all accounts. A woman can use it for masturbation, for vaginal, clitoral, anal or dual (vaginal and clitoral) stimulation. A man can use it as a prostate massager. Couples are able to include it in foreplay and even use it during penetrative sex, thinking along other, more famous couples vibrator lines.

Measurements

The Evolved Bendable You Too vibrator, the insertable/usable part, measures 8.75 inches in overall length. That’s when it’s straight and not bent at all. When bent double, the insertable outer arm comes to 3.9 inches of insertable vibrator.

Power

Although this is a battery operated sex toy (I am a spoilt brat and most of mine are rechargeable or mains powered now), taking 2 x AAA batteries (not included although Goodie Drawer kindly sent me some for mine), it’s also waterproof and silicone lubricant friendly.

Apparently.

I will get to those in a moment.

The first thing that hit me taking the toy (and wired controller – grrr) out of the pack was the smell of the material. It says on the packet that it’s made with a non-toxic material, but there is still quite a persistent smell, reminiscent of a doll’s head or inside a plastic pencil case. I don’t know if you’ll know what I mean really, or if I am just rambling to myself here.

Anywho, I inserted the two AAA batteries into the end of the wired controller (grrr), twisting off the cap to put them in. When the cap was twisted back on, it was simply a case of pressing the power button on, then pressing again to turn off. There is another button to scroll through the seven vibrating functions.

The toy has a rigid internal mechanism, which from the outside looks like plastic over the mechanics and vibrating motors. Over this internal, rigid area, there is what feels like a jelly material. It’s translucent, so you can see the internal plastic part. The box states it is non-toxic TPR. My first thought was that silicone lube would eat straight through it, despite the reassurances on the box to the contrary.

The Silicone Lube Test

“silicone and water based lube friendly”

I left some silicone lube on the surface of the toy overnight, hoping I wouldn’t have melted a hole straight through the centre of the toy down to my desk by morning. In the morning though, there was no sign of any damage starting, and even a wipe didn’t reveal the surface of the material to have suffered even minor irritation. Hmm. Ok, so you can use silicone lube on it.

Waterproof, eh? We’ll see about that one.

The Waterproof Test

Filling a sink I dunked the toy in and left it a good 5 minutes. Upon removal I turned it on again. it worked fine. So yes, I would be happy washing this thoroughly under the tap after use (with some anti-bacterial sex toy cleaner spritzed on afterwards), or using it in the bath or shower. If I even enjoyed this toy, when I got around to using it for what it’s meant for.

The only issue I have when washing or using the toy in water is that there is a small space around where the wire from the controller connects to the internal plastic toy, through the TPR material. This lets water in, between the outer stretchy skin and the inner rigid part. The toy still works; it simply looks a bit… squidgy.

AND so we finally get on to the use of the toy. I have used the toy in a few ways, the only way it’s not been tested in this house is as a prostate massager, and that’s because I want to be able to stick it inside me without feeling like it has ‘eau de man bum’ on it in the future. Well you did ask. Probably.

Functions

There are 7 vibrating functions on this vibrator, the usual ones:

  • Constant vibration – low speed
  • Constant vibration – medium speed
  • Constant vibration – high speed
  • Ascending vibration and repeat
  • Pulsating vibration
  • Faster pulse vibration
  • Dot-dot-dot-dash pulse vibration

Female Masturbation

I took myself off to have a play with the Bendable You Too, after washing it thoroughly again first. Just in case. I am a bit of a silicone, ceramic, metal, or glass slut. I’m just wary about stretchy materials,  to be honest with you.

Once I’d reassured myself about its cleanliness, I gave it my best shot. Inserting it into my vagina and placing the other end to my clit, I turned the toy on. There’s a motor in each end and the toy is very bendy. Hence the name. I’m sure you figured that one out for yourself.

The trouble is, this toy doesn’t have the oomph of certain other luxury dual stimulator toys. When using it vaginally – and on the clitoris – the vaginal portion is just too slender to make you feel properly attended to in that area. The wire from the controller dangles down when you use the toy standing up, and if you’re lying down the wire needs to either go up your body or over your thigh or placed somehow weirdly. What do you do with the controller while you’re trying to enjoy the session? Stick it in your bra (if you’re still wearing one)? Let is trail on the floor? Stick it up your butt?*

* not advisable

I eventually had the brainwave of using my butt. No, not for the controller, we’ve just been there. For the toy. I straightened the toy out again and lubricated myself, then inserted it into my ass. This was much better, although the wired controller was still an annoyance. On the highest constant vibration setting I orgasmed in pretty much no time at all, somewhat to my secret dismay.

I imagine that for a man, using this toy anally would feel sensational too. It made me feel like I had a prostate (and I don’t, I’ve checked). I bet it would milk guys easily. There’s just the controller issue that gets in the way of me liking the damn thing.

Couples Sex

I had pretty much the same issues using the Evolved Bendable You Too Vibrator (big breath) during couples playtime as I did when using it for masturbation. When using it on myself with him watching, yeah, it was fun, but not quite enough fun. The other functions on the toy are pretty skippable for me, I’m a constant vibration kinda gal. Stick it on high and get on with things.

Although having him inside me at the same time as the vibrator was pleasurable, the issue of the wire and needing him or I to hold the remote at all times put us off slightly. If you put the controller down, you worry that you’re going to lay on it during the natural movements of sex, or somehow tug on it wrongly and the whole thing will break. It would be very easy to break. I know that I could easily tug the wire out of the end of either the vibrating portion or the controller.

I’m not going to, as apparently nice girls don’t break their toys. Even if it’s really easy to do.

Again, the way I orgasmed with this toy during sex was to remove it and insert it anally, and have him penetrate me vaginally, and enjoy the dual sensations. This was great in missionary position, as the controller could lay between us (safely), but in doggy style the wire and controller dangled again, unattractively and out of reach. if it’s up the middle, so the controller lay beneath my breasts, I was worried I would pull on it too hard during the heat of the moment and pull the whole toy out. The wire also passes him by pretty closely this way. or it has to come round the outside of my ass. It’s all quite annoying and unnecessary really.

Summary

Although my first impressions of this toy were pretty appalling, it’s actually not THAT bad. It’s pretty naff, but I did orgasm using it. But only if I used it anally. The claims on the box do seem to be true, it’s waterproof, silicone lube safe, very bendy and is pretty damn versatile – as in, how and where you can insert it.

Oh, there was also an odd patch of greasiness on the controller when I removed it from the packet in the first place – you can see it on one of the photographs below. It wiped off, but was very odd.

My main issue with this vibrator is the wired controller. In case you haven’t surmised that already. If the Bendable You Too had the power buttons on the base of the toy instead of via a on/off and separate functions button on a plastic tube on the end of a 30 inch long wire, I would be able to rate this toy 8/10.

As it stands at the moment, I have to give it 6/10, being generous. It’s over £30 and yeah I orgasmed, eventually; but I doubt this toy will ever be used to help me on the way to climax again when I have much better sex toys to choose from.
