Ann Summers ‘The Rechargeable One’ Rabbit Vibrator Review

Being approached by Ann Summers to review one of their rabbit vibrators made my day. The very first sex toy I bought was at an Ann Summers party, many years ago, and now I am privileged to review one of the range free of charge.

I have very strong personal preferences and opinions when it comes to rabbit vibrators, so I was quite wary about clicking through the provided link to browse the range for which one I wanted. I had a terrible experience all those years ago, mirrored with similar products lately. Happily, I liked the look of The Rechargeable One so chose it. There are no beads in the shaft to wear down, and it can’t be power hungry when it comes to batteries, as it’s mains rechargeable with a docking station. So far, so good.

The rabbit is fairly hefty when you take it out of the packet. Not too heavy to lift but not exactly a Lady Finger vibe either. The box is larger than other rabbit vibrator boxes or packets I have seen, but then again there is a docking station included. I was also expecting the pink to be more of a ‘Vibe Therapy‘ pink, the dusky rose shade. This is WOW IT’S PINK. Neon. I don’t really care what colour my sex toys are, although if I were spending cash I probably wouldn’t go for anything pink, however dusky or bright it was. Still, the colour really has little bearing on if the toy works well for pleasure, so onwards I went with my testing process.

Next I needed to charge up this bedroom beast. There are 4 parts in the box: the rabbit vibrator, the wireless docking station, a USB lead which plugs into the dock with jackpin and a USB to mains adaptor. I just had to plug the lead into the dock and use the adaptor and the dock was ready to charge up the rabbit simply by sitting it within the cradle.

There is a green LED which comes on at the base of the dock to let you know that your dock is plugged in, this starts flashing when you sit the rabbit vibrator on it and the metal connectors touch, letting you know that it’s charging up.

I left the Rampant Rabbit overnight as I have a tendency to do with rechargeable sex toys when they need charging, and in the morning it was good to go. The Ann Summers website backs this up, stating that it needs a 12 hour initial charge, but future charging times should only be 1-2 hours.

According to Ann Summers, The Rechargeable One has 30% more power than its battery powered counterparts. I don’t have another Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit vibrator here to compare it to, and I got rid of my first foray into the world of Ann Summers sex toys many moons ago. Once you switch it on, the power is impressive however and the flickering ears make me sneeze if I touch them to the end of my nose. Seen by many to be an unparallelled test of vibrator power and to guarantee an orgasm when used intimately.

As I’ve mentioned, I have strong opinions about rabbit vibrators and I’ve only found a couple that I actually enjoy using. These are also rechargeable and they don’t have the traditional bead or ball filled shaft, so I had high hopes for Ann Summers’ The Rechargeable One. Taking myself off for a mid-afternoon sesh, I grabbed the water based lubricant that Ann Summers had sent with the toy (Rampant Rabbit: The Lubricating One sex lube review to follow shortly) and had my way with this large, powerful, charged up, neon pink sex toy.

Inserting the Rampant Rabbit was easy, once it was coated with lubricant. It’s a silicone sex toy so without lube it would be difficult to insert at first, with too much friction to be enjoyable. I won’t burn it, as I’ve been told off for burning my sex toys, but there is no chemical smell off this product to make me have any qualms about the authentic nature of the material. There is a seam around the centre of the toy, due to manufacturing. This is visible if you look closely, and you can feel it slightly when you run fingertips over it, but once the vibrator is inside the vagina it doesn’t make any difference. I can’t feel it there. In any case the swirling motions and vibrations from the Rampant Rabbit are far too distracting to be worrying about any slight seam up the silicone. There is also a similar seam running up the centre of each of the flickering rabbit ears on the clitoral stimulator.

During use, the shaft size is very generous and feels wonderful inside. The combination of the constant vibration of the motors in the shaft as well as the swirling action (you get a choice of 3 speeds of this rotation) are very pleasurable.

The actual dimensions of this rabbit vibrator by my measurements are: 10 inches overall length, 5.75 inches insertable length, 5.1 inches maximum circumference of the insertable shaft.

The up and down buttons on the base control the rotation speeds, once you have pressed the main on/off button on.

To activate the clitoral stimulator – the rabbit ears – you press the ‘spring’ or function button at the top of the control panel. I quite like this control panel, much sleeker and easier to read and use than the old fashioned slider settings or confusing unlabelled buttons from the previous versions of rabbit vibrator.

There are 7 functions of flickering, fluttering, vibration for the rabbit ears:

  1. Lowest speed constant vibration
  2. Medium speed constant vibration
  3. Fastest speed constant vibration
  4. Pulsing vibration
  5. Ascending vibration and repeat
  6. Long dash pulse vibration
  7. Dot-dot-dot dash pulse vibration

The ear flicker against you FAST. I have absolutely no problem with the speed that the ears buzz and flicker at, and when you put them lightly against your finger tip or nose you will marvel at the speed. They blur in motion when you watch them buzz. However, I do have a problem when trying to utilise this speed and motion to come to orgasm.

During use I want to pull the shaft into me harder and harder, holding the vibrator by the base. This causes the ears to ‘smoosh’ flat against me, losing the benefit of the light flickering that would feel amazing. As it is, even when I did manage to catch the tips flickering, they sometimes caused a sharp discomfort when the tips of the ears flicked directly onto the exposed clitoris, or moved the clit hood aside too violently. I don’t think my body is cut out for the split rabbit ear clitoral stimulators. I much prefer a single, silicone covered, powerful motor to really pull hard against my body, against my clitoris and to rub against in the way that feels best for me.

I don’t want to have this internal struggle going on when I’m masturbating: I want to pull the shaft into me mimicking sex it but I must hold it away from my body enough to catch the pleasurable flicks of the ears against the perfect spot on the side of my clit which just might cause me to move forwards on the path to orgasm.

There is a small nodule which sticks out under the ears, facing your body, which is styled as the rabbit ‘nose’. In order for this spot to be against my clit the ears were digging into the sensitive skin above my clit, between folds, and it wasn’t all that comfortable. I’m tempted to cut the ears off entirely and see how I get on that way.

I’ve tried to use the Rampant Rabbit ‘The Rechargeable One’ several times, each time with the same issues. Maybe it’s just me, but I need to report back on my experiences and opinions and that’s what I’m doing. I’ve even resorted to holding the entire vibrator by the base of the clitoral stimulator, to try and retain some control of how it was stimulating my body.

As for the noise, yes, it’s relatively quiet. There isn’t the grinding motors or mechanical whirring you get with the cheaper, metal or plastic ball filled rabbit vibrators, so that was a relief. it’s not silent by any means but you could use it in your bedroom under the sheet without housemates knowing what you’re up to, or in the en-suite in the bath or shower without any worry.

Oh yes: it’s waterproof. A bonus feature and very welcome! I do like a sex toy I can take to the shower with me. If I loved the clitoral stimulator more, this rabbit would have a permanent spot on my shower shelf.

I did eventually orgasm with The Rechargeable One, after a good ten minutes of trying to get the ears to flick the side of my clit in the right place, perhaps by luck more than any skill on my part or ingenious design of the toy.

In future versions I would love to see the same style and power of the main shaft, coupled with a silicone covered, rounded nub for the clitoral stimulator, housing at least one of those powerful motors. If there was a storage bag provided in the box too, we’d have a complete winner.

You can buy sex toy storage bags from Ann Summers separately to store your Rampant Rabbit in, I would recommend adding one to your order if you don’t have a colourfast bag to put it in. This is a silicone sex toy so you can’t store it near your other silicone or soft material toys, the surface will probably get damaged. Also, only use water based lubricant with it, not silicone lube.

Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit vibrators seem to have come a long way since my first Ann Summers party purchases many years ago. if you’re a fan of the flickering ears clit stim, get this rabbit. You will probably love it. The ears just don’t work for me, which is a shame.

The Ann Summers Rampant Rabbit ‘The Rechargeable One’ is priced at £65 and benefits from free, standard, discreet UK delivery.

your review made me buy this item! But I am a bit paranoid. You know the part were you charge it? The picture which shows no.13103… did you get any cover for that part? Before I bought it.. it looked like there was a cover on it but I didn’t get any. I’m afraid to use it in the shower as the “battery dots” has no cover.
And my charger kept blinking green the firt 12 hours is that normal?

      Hiya
Sounds like your rabbit was fully charged?
And yes, it’s quite usual for newer style rechargeable sex toys not to have a covered charging port – don’t worry, it’s still perfectly waterproof. I have used mine in the bath and shower and it’s fine!
      Happy sexy adventures,
      Cara

Did you find out what USB adaptor was required? I too have lost my USB black cable and need to replace mine.
