Age of Reason The Orgy Bondage Scarf Review

The Age of Reason scarves are part of a collection of luxurious fashion accessories created with the help of designer Ali Mapletoft. Her work has featured in such widely read publications as Stylist Magazine, Grazia, Red Magazine, In Style, The Times, The Telegraph, You Magazine, Metro, Drapers, Womenswear Buyer and Vogue online. Naturally I was curious when Age of Reason contacted me via Twitter to invite me to take a look at the more naughty corner of their prestigious online shop.

7 types of scarves with various ‘naughty’ prints make up the ‘Naughty’ category of Age of Reason, and the one that appealed to me the most is the Orgy Bondage Scarf. The Age of Reason scarves are all 100% silk and I loved the idea that the print was definitely naughty and kinky, yet the scarf could be worn with a normal day wear outfit and a blasé look, to achieve that alluring mix of daring and innocence all at once. Being grey there are obvious connotations one could make with the 50 Shades of Grey tsunami of bondage sex toys and other associated sales. However, I feel that when it comes to the Age of Reason Orgy Bondage Scarf this wasn’t in the mind of the designers at all. It’s simply, subtly, stylishly grey.

As soon as you open your discreetly wrapped package from Age of Reason you know you have a luxurious item in your hands. The Orgy Bondage Scarf comes with its own certificate of authenticity, which is a lovely touch especially as the scarf is priced at £98. One would want to be assured they have the genuine article. The scarf itself is quite clearly silk; soft, sumptuous and sublimely tactile between the fingers and over the skin.

As an item I can wear outside the bedroom as well as an item I can use within, this scarf appeals to me greatly. So many adult products are confined to boudoir quarters, never to see anything but the 4 walls where you get ‘down to business’ alone or with a partner. The versatility of this scarf is what makes it all the more desirable, as well as being simply a luxurious and artistic piece in its own right.

For tying wrists or ankles together the Orgy Bondage Scarf is surprisingly strong; perhaps not all that surprising if you realise the strength of silk as a material. It is certainly not advisable to bear down upon the material with Hulk-like brute strength in case you tear the beautifully designed fabric, but for romantic bondage play the scarf has, so far, survived unscathed for us. The scarf also effectively blocks out light when used as a blindfold, although it’s difficult to tie securely to your partner’s head. A more teasing atmosphere ensues, rather than a hardcore BDSM session of power exchange.

When wearing as a fashion piece, the penises around the edge are quite noticeable, yet you could easily tuck them into a jacket or top if this is more appropriate for your surroundings. Travelling to a munch for instance, or ready to spring the design upon your unaware fellow passengers during air travel.

The possibilities, as they say, are endless – or at least only limited by your own imagination. Looking for the perfect erotic, luxurious gift to give to a partner or lover? I would definitely recommend the Age of Reason Orgy Bondage Scarf. For under £100 this scarf represents an investment that communicates the depth of your romantic as well as playful feelings, and the included authenticity certificate adds that required quality assurance.
