A few months ago I was sent a sampling of the enormous range of System JO products, free of charge by System JO for the purposes of fair and honest reviews.
System JO specialises in sexual lubricants although their well presented, professional looking collection also includes sexual and intimate accoutrements such as delay spray, shave gels, arousal gels and sex toy cleaner.
I’ve spent the last few months steadily working my way through the variety of System JO products you can see in the picture above, and I’m ready to share my feedback.
H2O Water Based Lubricant
The System JO H2O Water Based Lubricant samples I received came in twist-off-cap, 4ml little tubes which are frosted plastic. This means you can easily see how much lube you’re dispensing and how much you have left in each one.
This product is also available in warming or cool variants and in 2.5oz, 4.5oz, 8oz or 16oz with pump.
The mini tubes are clearly and professionally marked not only with the System JO logo but also with info about the lube itself. The blue wording and cap gives aquatic connotations which fit with the water based type of lubricant this is, and the overall design would be suitable for all regardless of gender, relationship status, age or sexuality.
How does this lube hold up during use? Very well is the short answer. it’s water based lube and it does what it says on the tube. For a water based lubricant it’s very long lasting, as well as completely clear and non-staining. It doesn’t have any scent or fragrance to speak of and although it’s not an edible lube, the taste isn’t totally repugnant if you do happen to get a dot in your mouth.
This lubricant washes off easily after you’ve finished, although I found this was more the case when used for masturbation than during couples sex. During masturbation with sex toys I am more likely to orgasm faster than my body is naturally capable of, with less friction to my body parts than during skin to skin sexual activity. When using this lube during foreplay and sex with my partner, we tend to take our time and the amount of lubricant dispensed during each session lasted throughout the foreplay and initial friction – dissipating with body heat at about the time we transitioned to penetrative sex and natural vaginal lubrication came into play as well.
This non-offensive, non-intrusive lubricant is a fresh feeling, uncomplicated addition to the sex essentials pot. There were no negative after effects although the more sensitive sex enthusiasts out there may wish to note that this lube does contain glycerin and paraben. There is no aspartame however, and it’s latex free, plus latex and condom compatible. Apart from those points which are minor for us, there’s really nothing more I can say. A great quality water based lubricant.
Ingredients: Purified water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben.
You’ll notice that all the System JO lubricants with a water base are prefixed with H2O for obvious reasons. This helps you tell them apart from the hybrid and silicone types.
Flavoured H20 Lubricants
The System JO H20 Flavoured Lubricants come in an astounding wide variety of flavours. You can select from:
Green Apple Sinful Delight
You can buy the H2O Flavoured Lubricants in 30ml (1oz) and 150ml (5.25 oz) bottles elsewhere on the web. I have the 3ml sachets for a few of the flavours, along with 30ml bottles for some.
The flavoured lubricants do contain glycerine and paraben although there’s no aspartame. I don’t get any side effects from using glycerine formulated lubes but if you do, and you plan to use the lubes vaginally, you may wish to give this extra consideration.
I have a few of these flavours and overall, I’ve enjoyed them. Unlike other flavoured lubricants available, the System JO flavoured lubes don’t leave a furry feeling on your teeth, a slimy, sticky feeling on your tongue or any ‘throat drizzle’ as I call it. It’s easy to imagine these lubes over an icecream or dessert, they’re really that edible. This was recently proven at the ETO Show, where the System JO stand benefitted from an ice cream machine where visitors were invited to try a lube topping. This went down very well and showed that these lubricants really are edible, not just ‘lickable if you happen to be in the sexual region and don’t like the taste of sexed up skin’.
H2O Cool Mint Flavoured Lubricant
As mint has always been one of my top favourite flavours, I was particularly curious about this flavour of System JO lube. I only had the sachets of this flavour, each of which hold 3ml – more than enough for one or two sexual sessions.
The sachets easily tear open across the top and you simply squeeze out a few drops of lubricant on your fingertips ready to use. The taste is certainly refreshing, but a more ‘creamy mint’ (if that’s even possible) than a cutting garden mint or peppermint taste.
I would have liked the stronger mint flavours but I know this would be overpowering for some so I think System JO have done the right thing by tempering the mint element a little.
As a lubricant it’s certainly slippery and does the job without any nasty after effects. It washes off easily, dissipating immediately with water, and doesn’t stain sheets or clothing.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Flavouring.
H2O Watermelon Flavoured Lubricant
The System JO H2O Watermelon Flavoured Lubricant is strong but in a piquant rather than overpowering way. Of course it helps if you like the flavour of watermelon. The flavour of this lube is the manufactured flavour of watermelon, as when you actually eat the fruit it really is more watery than this fragrant scent that is often used in confectionery and edibles.
Despite the flavour being the stronger, more manufactured rather than natural scent and flavour of watermelon, the taste seems fresh and crisp rather than heavy, sickly and syrupy. It’s also refreshing to see a flavour of lube that’s different from the usual suspects – cherry, chocolate and mint.
Unlike other brands of flavoured lube, the System JO Watermelon Lube doesn’t leave an aftertaste in your mouth nor does it linger well past swallowing stage on your tongue and over your teeth. It almost seems to evaporate in the mouth, leaving you with the knowledge you’ve licked some flavoured lube but without the ‘throat drizzle’ as it will henceforth be known.
Another notable difference to other flavoured lubes is that the System JO Watermelon Lube actually works as a sexual lubricant. It’s not purely about the taste; when using it to reduce friction between skin during couples sex or during masturbation, the target of slipperiness without the stickiness is achieved.
The lubricant dispenses easily whether from sachet or bottle.
No hesitation in giving this one full marks, 10/10.
Ingredients: Purified Water (Aqua), Glycerin, Sodium Carboxy Methyl Cellulose, Flavour, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben
H2O Raspberry Sorbet Flavoured Lubricant
Similar to the Cool Mint flavour lube, the Raspberry Sorbet flavour was risking being too strong for some. Raspberry is definitely a strong taste but System JO have tempered it to more of a creamy style, adding in the sorbet element.
My first thought when tasting this lube was, ‘oh wow, that’s amazing’. Honest first impression. It’s insanely morish, so much so that I devoured almost an entire sachet of the stuff before using it for any sexual purpose whatsoever!
It’s difficult to describe a taste but this lube combines the fruity element with a blend of cream, without being syrupy, sickly or a turn off for those without a sweet tooth. My tastes have changed over the years and I avoid sweet cocktails and the like, heading towards more savoury snacks and dry beverages. Yet I love this lube. This is one I will definitely be keeping within arm’s reach during oral sex (or having icecream).
As a lubricant – yet again it’s slippery, removes from the skin instantly with water and evaporates on the tongue comfortably and cleanly. it isn’t sticky or tacky like other flavoured lubes, it works just as a lube should – providing frictionless sex when used as a lubricant and a refreshing, fruity taste when complementing oral sex.
Ingredients: Glycerin, Water (Aqua), Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben, Flavouring.
H2O Vanilla Cream Flavoured Lubricant
This lubricant was confusing for me. Although the lubricant acts the same as the other flavoured lubes in the System JO range, almost evaporating on the tongue, not leaving any ‘throat drizzle’ or fur on the teeth, the flavour is almost overpoweringly sweet for me. If you like cream soda and have a sweet tooth, you’ll love this one.
Note that there are no artificial sweeteners or aspartame in this lube, but it does contain glycerine and paraben.
This lubricant tastes too sweet for me, even without real sugar or aspartame in, The flavour itself doesn’t suit me very well. But then I’m more of a dry white, dirty martini, gin ‘n tonic girl rather than sex on the beach. Cocktail, obviously.
As a lubricant it’s slippery and isn’t sticky or tacky like other flavoured lubricants can be. I’d rather use this as a usual sex lubricant than a lickable/edible sex accessory – but then why would I when I have other water based, hybrid or silicone lubricants which do the job just as well?
Only a 7/10 for this one – it all comes down to whether you like the flavour, yet as a lubricant it does the job.

All In One Cucumber Massage Glide/Tattoo Conditioner
Silicone Based Lubricant
What a versatile product this is: System JO Cucumber Massage Glide/Silicone Lubricant/Tattoo Conditioner. What a shame it doesn’t do the dishes as well! 😉
I remember this product from the first EroFame I visited, where this was one of the System JO range I tried with the team I worked with at the time. My colleague had tattoos on her arms which were perfect to demonstrate the tattoo conditioning qualities of the bottled liquid.
Back then, and in the present day when trying this out on my mum in law – she’s the only one in the house with tattoos – it was and is amazing to see the effect the cucumber glide has on tattoos. After rubbing a couple of dots over the tattood skin, the tattoos do appear brighter and somehow, cleaner. I’m not sure if it’s a placebo or psychosomatic – but does that even really matter? On both standard deep green tattoos and multi coloured ones, the cucumber glide has had a positive effect.
Also, my mother in law is very pleased she’s been able to help with my product testing and is highly amused she was needed.
The liquid itself looks and feels like a standard silicone lubricant; slightly less everlastingly slippery perhaps. That’s why it’s important you only use a couple of dots on a tattoo, to ensure you don’t end up looking like you got dipped in a vat of oil.
As a lubricant the massage glide works almost identical to the silicone lube in the System JO range; slippery and helps amazingly towards friction free sex and masturbation. I wouldn’t use it purely for a massage as when used in that amount it was uncomfortable after the massage finished. I don’t want to lie there with a thin veneer of silicone lube on me all night and neither did my partner – this feels a lot better used as a lubricant then any excess washed off afterwards. That’s how we felt, in any case.
As a silicone lube and tattoo conditioner this stuff is amazing. The cucumber scent is refreshing and relaxing all at once.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, cyclotetrasiloxane, dimethiconol, dimethicone, cucumber (fragrance).
Premium Silicone Lubricant
System JO Silicone Lube is as you’d expect; a clear, odourless, taste free liquid with a higher viscosity than water based lube and the longevity of silicone lubricant. Unlike water based lube this silicone lubricant won’t evaporate with body heat and friction, meaning that it’s great for sex marathon sessions and anal sex.
Be careful using it near sheets and clothing as it may stain, and to wash it from the body after sex or masturbation you will need to use soapy water as it isn’t soluble in water alone. This does mean that you can enjoy System JO Silicone Lube as your frictionless sex accessory of choice in the bath or shower – provided you’re very careful and don’t slip on the bath or shower base after your fun.
The lubricant easily flows to the opening when you tip the bottle up, and isn’t overly gloopy but is thicker than a water based lubricant at the same time.
Not much more to say about the System JO silicone lube other than the fact it’s really very silky feeling to the touch and doesn’t have the itchy aftereffect some silicone lubes can.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, Cyclotetrasiloxane, Dimenthiconol, Dimethicone
Hybrid Silicone and Water Based Lubricant
System JO Hybrid lube feels and looks like the classic clear water based lubricant, benefitting from the longevity of silicone lube. Added pluses are that you can use it with all your sex toys (yes, even silicone), and it won’t stain sheets or clothing. The addition of silicone in the ingredients means it doesn’t dissipate after only a few moments of steamy friction, yet it washes off easily and completely after you’re done.
I prefer using this hybrid lubricant to the silicone lube if I’m honest, as I never know when I am going to want to reach for a silicone sex toy during sex or masturbation. Of course you can’t use silicone lube with any silicone material, as over time it will wear away the material on silicone sex toys. Although silicone lube IS compatible with latex condoms, there are other factors to take into consideration too. Silicone lube can leave dark coloured patches on sheets and clothing, staining them if you’re not careful. Silicone lube remains on the skin until you wash it off with soap and water, and even then it can take a while before your skin feels entirely lube-free. With this hybrid lubricant it feels like silicone lube but washes off instantly with water. Perfect.
You can use this with silicone sex toys, condoms, with your partner or alone and it hasn’t stained any of our sheets which is a bonus. Nothing to dislike about this lube at all. Easy to dispense and hasn’t had any negative after effects.
Ingredients: Purified water (aqua), sodium carboxymethyl cellulose propylene glycol, phenoxyethanol sodium polyacrylate, dimethicone cyclopentasiloxane, trideceth-6 peg/ppg-18/18 dimethicone.
Certified Organic 100% Natural Water Based Lubricant
The organic lube in the System JO range is quite easily identified not only by the light green coloured wrapper with it’s ecological connotations and relevant certifications, but also as a thick substance which is a semi opaque sandy colour and reminiscent of wallpaper paste.
The consistency and colour is undoubtedly due to the ingredients of this particular lubricant, which include locust bean gum, aloe leaf juice, acai pulp powder and citrus extract. The lube bottle states that it’s 100% natural and glycerin, paraben and petroleum free. it’s also compatible with latex and is water soluble. It’s certified organic by CCOF and also bears the USDA organic qualification.
During use this lube is quite difficult to get out of the bottle as it’s very thick and doesn’t quickly come to the opening when you tip the bottle up. In fact on more than a few occasions I simply unscrewed the entire lid and either inserted a pinky or gave it a hefty whack on to my palm, Heinz ketchup style.
Being so thick, this lubricant makes a great alternative to your other anal lubes or sex toy lubes, as you definitely know where you’re applying this one. You can see it for one thing, thanks to the semi opaque colour, and the globulous nature is reassuring when you need a little extra lubrication. It’s also water based so it shouldn’t give you any stains if spilled on sheets or clothing (it hasn’t stained anything of ours, in any case), and it washes off easily if there’s any residue after use.
The only thing I’d change about this product is to put it in a squeeze style container similar to a toothpaste tube, to make it easier to get to the top opening and squeeze out on to palm or body.
I am not overly fussed about using an organic lube but if such things are a priority for you, you’ll love this lube. Aside from dispensation, no negative points.
Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Locust Bean Gum*, Aloe Barbendensis Leaf Juice*, Euterpe Oleracea (Acaii) Pulp Powder*, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Extract*

Atomic Clitoral Gel
Contained in a branded, clearly labelled tube, I had high hopes for this clit stim/arousal gel titled ‘Atomic’. The formulation is a combination of skin tingling ingredients, such as peppermint and capsicum.
Still a far cry from the disappointment of Volt, Atomic did have a discernible arousing effect but still only mild. Perhaps this is because I have the clitoris of an industry hardened clit stim fanatic, or perhaps it’s for the most sensitive women only. Either way, Atomic didn’t send me into arousal orbit. Yet another sad face looking out on to a pile of arousal gels and clit stim creams.
It’s not all bad news for Atomic; as I have mentioned there is a slight tingling effect which, when you feel it may be like a party in your pants. Not in my knickers. Like the gentle ebb of a fondly remembered orgasm last night, the Atomic gel merely reminded me that I had a clitoris if, you know, I cared to use it sometime. As I’m aware of this most of the time anyway, it didn’t really lead me by the throat to the nearest fully charged bullet vibe. Instead I found myself ignoring it and getting on with my day.
As a complement to actual sex and or masturbation, instead merely a slather and anticipation of libido reaching nymphomaniac proportions out of the blue, Atomic can add an iota of lift to the whole session. By which I really do mean a slight lift. You have to remember to apply it about 20-30 minutes before you want to feel the mild tingle, then actively be taking part in sexual activity.
This is all from my personal experience of course, as this is my honest feedback from using the product. The effects are purely physical though, and as such I didn’t feel what could be described as a genuine heightened arousal as no gel can push those buttons in my mind necessary to really feel properly turned on.
Having a gently tingling clit for a few moments doesn’t quite cut it enough for me to invest money purchasing this product. If you find other arousal gels and creams too strong and don’t like the dramatic effect of powerful bullet vibes and other vibrators, you might love this Atomic gel. For me? Only a 6/10.
Ingredients: Cyclopentasiloxane, cyclotetrasiloxane, dimethiconol, dimethicone, mentha piperita (peppermint), capsicum, olearesin.
Volt 12v Arousing Tingling Serum
I was expecting really dramatic effects from a small liquid filled capsule which comes presented in the centre of brightly coloured card, entitled Volt and giving connotations of an electrifying, almost explosive experience. This stimulation gel or liquid is applied to the clitoris and clitoral area before you want to have sex or enjoy masturbation and the intention is to raise the libido and stimulate you to higher levels of arousal than you reach naturally.
There’s a few negative issues I found while using Volt. To open the capsule you really need some small sharp scissors to nip the end off; if you attempt to bite it you get some in your mouth which isn’t great and if you try to pop it open you risk getting it all over your face, clothes, floor as well as dumping the entire capsule contents over your genital regions. Although the capsule looks small, when you only need a drop or two the entirety of the contents is too much for a single application.
This leads me to my second issue with Volt. Once you do have the top of the capsule snipped off, squeezed gently to dispense a couple of drops on to a fingertip or directly on to your genital region, you need to find somewhere and some way to save the rest of the capsule for next time. It’s unlikely that you will use any more of the capsule in the same 12-24 hour period. Placing it on a tabletop leads to the risk of spillage and mess, and if you’re on travels you may as well throw the rest of the capsule away as you can’t stash the open capsule in your handbag or pocket.
The bottles of Volt which are available online would be more suitable for travel, and even then I’d prefer a dropper/teat pipette dispenser. That is of course, if you find Volt works for you.
After several attempts to enjoy the effects of Volt, I have been disappointed with this product and I can’t say it works for me in the slightest. I’d get more noteworthy effects from applying a chilli infused olive oil (which may be an idea, hold that thought).
I think it may be time to erm… Re-Volt. As it were. Only 3/10 for this one. Unhappy face.
Ingredients: Oleyl alcohol, zanthoxylum bungeanum (prickly ash bark), olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, eclipta prostrata extract, melia azadirachta leaf extract, moringa pterygosperma seed oil, melia azadirachta extract, amino esters 1, eclipta prostrata extract, lawsonia inermis extract, ocimum sanctum leaf extract, corallina officinalis extract.
ProLonger Desensitising Spray For Men
As this spray is 7.5% benzocaine, it works by anaesthetising the area to numb it from sensation. If you have a problem with premature ejaculation then you may wish to keep this small spray within reach before you have sex, to avoid a disappointing early end to your sexy fun times.
This small 2ml spray definitely packs a punch and to be honest, I wasn’t looking forward to trying this one out as my man doesn’t have a problem with premature ejaculation – quite the opposite in fact. I took one look at this spray and could feel my legs aching already.
As I thought – this spray does delay his climax, but it does this by making him unable to feel the full effects of physical sensation through the process of numbing his penis. He didn’t feel particularly ‘harder’ or ‘bigger’, I think those words on the back of the pack are quite misleading. This is a delay spray, not an enlargement cream or liquid.
It does the job it’s meant to – desensitises the penis. You need to wait until the product has taken effect before starting to have sex, approximately 5 minutes. You only need 3 sprays max to the penis tip and over the shaft if you wish. How this product will affect you is a very personal matter, everyone has a slightly different reaction to benzocaine (or lidocaine, in similar products).
It’s not something that I will be rushing to buy unless the man develops a problem in this area, but if it’s applicable for you then it might be a wise investment for your sex accessories drawer.
Ingredients: Purified water (aqua), benzocaine, propylene glycol, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, methyl paraben propyl parabene, peg-8.
‘Pure’ Shave Gel for Women – Unscented
It’s such a welcome change to receive a product to review that isn’t insertable, vibrating or lubricating! Well that’s only partly true – the System JO Shaving Gel for Women is rather lubricating but for a very different reason than to complement sexual activity or masturbation.
At first I thought that the shave gel contained in this metallic with feminine pink highlights would foam up once applied to the skin. On actual fact this thick gel is simply dispensed on to your fingertips or palm of your hand then smeared over the area you wish to shave. You can use it on any part of the body you’d normally use a razor on.
Whether it was used in the bath or shower I found the shave gel to be a convenient, comfortable and favourable alternative to the usual soaps and foams I use to lather an area of skin. The razor glides smoothly over the skin with the layer of gel protecting from unwanted nicks or discomfort, and your skin feels supremely smooth once you’re dried off too.
Although the canister is metallic in style which is reminiscent of 80s packaging, it has been stored on my shower gel without any of the telltale signs of rust to the bottom of the can or along the seams.
The canister is clearly labelled with all the info and instructions you could want. I can see myself purchasing this product in the future as it’s something I’ve really enjoyed using and which has benefitted my intimate life and beauty regime.
There are a couple of fragranced shave gels in this range if you prefer (Temptation and Harmony); this is the Pure variant which is unfragranced and has no other discernible odour.
Thanks System JO! Another 10/10 for this one.
Thanks again to System JO for sending a large sampling from the collection to try out and review. I feel that this is a lubricants range I can recommend to others, with a few words of caution about the glycerine/paraben in the flavoured lubes and the personal effects from the arousal gels.
System JO is priced to appeal to all budget levels, with differing sizes for the lubricants allowing you to start with a small amount and working your way up to investing in a large bottle with pump.
