Coquette Spellbound Bustier Lingerie Review

coquette spellbound bustier soft bondage lingerie set review

This beautiful item of lingerie was sent to me by the fab peeps at La Boudoir Boutique. As this is a proper, honest-to-goodness, out there in the real world shop, there’s no links I can give you to the actual product. You’ll have to visit the shop and take a look for yourself!

The Coquette Spellbound Bustier is elegant and gorgeous. At least in the picture. But would the reality hold up to the often highly edited model photographs on the label? As I unwrapped my discreetly packaged, quickly delivered bundle from La Boudoir Boutique, it was time to find out.

When La Boudoir Boutique had offered an item of lingerie for me to test, review and keep, I hadn’t realised that this bustier was by Coquette. My stages of thought went quickly from trying it on, being surprised at the good fit and then looking at the label, exclaiming aloud, “Ah… that’s why! It’s Coquette.” I love Coquette clothing and lingerie, I find the fit is fab on me whereas a lot of other lingerie brands say they’re a 10 or 12 and they’re more like a 4-6 when you get them.

I’ve had many disappointing experiences with lingerie, and then with lingerie reviewing, so I am pleased to say this bustier and the recent Grase Roza bra may mark the start of a turn around in this department.

I have the medium size and I’m a UK 12 – it’s also available in a small or large. You can download the Coquette lingerie size chart here.

This bustier is deliciously romantic and has a naughty touch of kink. It’s sophisticated enough for a seductive look, while the soft attached stretchy cuffs give a hint of bondage without being full on, hardcore fetishwear.

There’s a triple row of hooks and eyes on the back to give you the necessary amount of adjustment for your personal figure, and the shoulder straps are adjustable just like a normal bra. The wired cups are comfortable and realistically sized – not too small and not huge. I’m a 34D and it fits me well.

The neck collar part is lace and fastens at the back of the neck with hook and eyes. At the front there’s a black slender strip which comes down to connect to the centre of your cleavage with a slide clip – the kind you find on removable bra straps.  Also attached to the centre of the neckpiece (faux collar) are two slender chains, with a black elasticated wrist cuff at the end of each.

The bottom of the bustier has suspender clasps to the front and back, connected to a black lace band, like a garter on each side. At the back there are wide strips of silver ribbon which can be tied into bows behind the legs, or alternatively used to ‘secure’ the wrists in the elasti-cuffs to the back of the legs, while in a kneeling up position. I use the word ‘secure’ very tentatively – this is by no means a bondage item! The bustier, cuffs and ribbons are well made but would be delicate as bondage restraints, they are material and not meant for serious struggles or violent sex of any kind.

It’s such a beautiful bustier/lingerie outfit but one which is best suited to the bedroom. I couldn’t really fit this underneath everyday wear! You could probably get away with parts of it showing at a fetish club or adult event but in reality this is a pure seduction piece.

There’s a lot to this bustier and it was difficult to get proper pictures of all of it – I hope I’ve shown the different looks you can achieve in the gallery below. I can’t do it justice however, it’s truly gorgeous.

The Coquette Spellbound Bustier is priced at £43.95 and in sold in store at La Boudoir Boutique, Canterbury. Definitely the best sex shop in Canterbury, if not the UK!
