LELO MONA Wave Vibrator Review

The LELO Mona Wave Vibrator is definitely one of the most anticipated sex toys of 2015. You’d think this was the vibrator that does sit-ups and high fives your G-spot. 😉 There are two vibrators in LELO’s new Wave range, the LELO MONA Wave and the LELO INA Wave.

LELO MONA Wave Vibrator Review

I was invited to share my opinions and experiences about one of the new LELO Wave sex toys and I chose the MONA. The LELO MONA Wave Vibrator was sent to me free of charge in exchange for my honest review.

The discreet & securely wrapped package was delivered quickly. Soon I was opening the mailing box and retrieving an instantly recognisable LELO box. As always LELO’s packaging is not only practical but minimal and stylish, with product information about the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator on the outer glossy box. Inside this white outer box there is the lidded black box compete with embossed LELO logo which holds the vibrator & accessories inside.

Removing the lid I was faced with the main event, the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator, as well as a mains charging lead, a sample of LELO lube, the authenticity & warranty details and an instruction booklet.

My LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is Blue but it’s also available in Black or Deep Rose. The handle is always white and made from ABS plastic, whereas the insertable shaft is covered with body safe, smooth silicone. The LELO logo is embossed on the handle just before the main insertable area of the vibrator.

The LELO MONA Wave Vibrator measures 8.5 inches in overall length, 4.5 to 5 inches in insertable length and has a maximum shaft circumference of 4.5 inches. These are my own measurements.

The handle is where you find the centre of operation. Unlike other LELO sex toys the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is turned on by the central concave button, then the vibrating patterns and intensity is selected by the + and -, or ^ and V buttons which surround it.

Before I started to play with the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator, I had to charge it up. Like the rest of the LELO sex toys collection the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is a rechargeable sex toy, removing any worry about stocking up with batteries or finding the right type. To charge it up I simply needed to plug the jackpin end of the lead into the port at the bottom of the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator, then plug the other end into a mains socket. I was surprised that there was no USB charging option – most of the recently launched rechargeable sex toys I’ve seen offer a USB charging lead with a USB to mains adaptor plug. Not a huge issue just a momentary surprise.

While the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is charging up the white LEDs behind the controls flash. They stop flashing once the vibrator is fully charged. I left mine overnight and it was ready in the morning.

As I’ve stated above, the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is turned on by pressing the middle concave button, not unlocking via two buttons pressed at once like with other LELO vibrators. It was when this middle button was pressed that my intense fascination with this vibrator began. I’d obviously heard about the ‘wave’ motion that gives the range its name and which sets this MONA and IDA apart from the second incarnations, but it was still a thrill to see it for myself. As well as the first mode of vibration, a deep constant vibration through the shaft, the shaft starts to do what I can only describe as sit-ups. That’s what first came to mind anyway.

Sex advice articles and female health columns have long been giving one main top tip for locating the often elusive G-spot. A finger or two, inside the vagina, then curl upwards and make the come-hither motion. This is what the LLELO MONA Wave Vibrator tries to replicate – and it does it very well considering it’s a mechanical device with limited motion options.

Combined with the original fantastic features of the LELO MONA (if it ain’t broke…) such as the easy to hold handle, the slender neck contrasted by the wider shaft to enjoy enveloping entirely and the powerful vibrations, the wave motion is a winning addition.

Not only do you have a choice of vibration pattern and intensity, but the movement of the shaft up and down, stimulating the G-spot, feels like you have discovered a new lover. It is obvious that a LELO have created a sex toy which is the culmination of their technological advances and their research into female sexual pleasure up to this point.

There appears to be two motors in the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator, one in the handle and the other in the widest part of the insertable shaft. The up and down arrows on the handle control which speed or pattern of vibration is felt, while the plus and minus symbols allow you to choose the intensity level. No matter which pattern or intensity you choose, the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator continues the same, determined beckoning motion throughout them all. To turn the vibrator off, just press the middle button.

The LELO MONA Wave Vibrator also has a handy travel lock which can be activated by pressing the + and – buttons for 5 seconds.

During use I found I did have to keep hold of the handle quite firmly, as my vagina wants to simply hold the internal shaft and allow the external handle to wave about instead. As long as I’m holding the handle firmly the internal shaft does its duty and strokes my G-spot in a very arousing way. I do tend to forget in the heat of the moment and let go or loosen my grip but I soon realise and hold on again. There isn’t really any way of telling which are the up and down arrows and which are the plus and minus during use, as my fingertips aren’t as intuitive as a Braille readers and craning my beck to try and see would kinda ruin the moment. Luckily I tend to enjoy the high constant vibration of vibrators anyway so I stick with this one.

LELO MONA Wave Vibrator Review by Cara Sutra

Although the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is incredibly pleasurable on its own, I found that combining it with a butt plug (static or vibrating) and/or a clitoral bullet vibrator was the ultimate orgasmic heaven. I’m the kind of girl who likes to be almost overwhelmed by stimulation though. The LELO MONA Wave Vibrator responds really well to water based lubricant and I only needed a little at the start to help it glide into position, then the motions and vibrations induced natural lubrication during use.

In summary this is a brilliantly crafted vibrator and the wave motion has helped me rediscover the pleasures of G-spot stimulation. I still find clitoral stimulation my quickest route to orgasm, but for penetrative masturbation the LELO MONA Wave Vibrator is my current favourite. For women who favour G-spot stim and vaginal penetration this vibe will likely be a dream come true. You also have the reassurance of LELO’s 1 year and 10 year guarantees as well as the reputable, trusted calibre of LELO’s pleasure products.
