The Big Book of Orgasms – 69 Sexy Stories
Edited By Rachel Kramer Bussel
Firstly, thank you to the Cara Sutra for giving me this wonderful book in return for an honest and unbiased review.
The book comprises of 69 very short orgasm focused stories, each one no longer than 1,200 words. This is ideal for someone like me who quite often falls asleep within five minutes of getting into bed and picking up a book.
The book starts off with a Foreword by Barbara Carrellas who has over 25 years’ experience teaching erotic workshops. In the Foreword she talks about the different types of orgasms that a person can experience and includes a small workshop to get the reader thinking about building their own arousal and their own orgasms.
I actually really enjoyed Barbara’s contribution. An orgasm is something that is easily taken for granted without really thinking about the mechanics behind the experience, once you stat to pick things it really is quite a complex issue. Er, so yes it was actually a really interesting introduction particularly if you are a sex geek like me!
The book itself was edited by Rachel Kramer Bussel who is a veteran in the world of Erotica and has over 10 years’ experience as a writer and editor and this book certainly doesn’t disappoint.
The stories themselves are delicious little snippets of pure arousal and provide an interesting take on the ways in which orgasm can be achieved. For example, Annabeth Leong gives a whole new meaning to the term ‘crank up the base’ with some musical pleasure whilst Malin James makes us wonder if you really can come from just spanking alone?
One of my favourite tales is the Indian based story from Suleika Snyder. Asian erotica is quite rare to find and I thought it was a really refreshing addition to the collection plus an enjoyable story.
The Big Book of Orgasms is wide and varied and offers a really diverse collection of tales. If you ever wondered whether a Scarecrow could cure your sexual demons, take a walk in the imagination Giselle Renarde with a no holds barred anecdote of sexual tension in the garden centre.
What you do if there was an ultimate remote control let you change anything you wanted, you’re your gender? Simon and Jessica have the ultimate tool, how will they use it? Find out in Remote Control by Logan Zachary which is another usual but interesting tale.
Look out for The Morning After which features a Honeymoon with a big difference by David Salcido – and gasp aloud at the twist at the end. Truly erotic!
Kay Jaybee, one of my favourite erotic authors uses thorns to tease arousal from her readers whilst Heather Day leads us through a series of erotic tasks which find us wondering if you can orgasm without using your hands….
An inspiring collection and one that’s filled with orgasmic pleasure. It’s naughty and fun and I would recommend it. I like the short stories and the fact that every single story is completely different. I found the stories well written and the book very well put together.
I’d give it an enjoyable 7/10.
