Well! Lots has happened recently. Last Friday, 6 July we moved house, out of the Manor and into our own 7 bed home in Lincolnshire, which we can buy and own. The move went well, not that I could do much to help, so was mostly left feeling pretty useless while the boys did the heavy lifting, pulling, hefting, tugging and shoving. (makes a change, eh girls!)
It took all weekend and quite a few truckloads to move but we are finally in our beautiful new home, which is gorgeous, we love it. 7 bedrooms with 6 bathrooms, 4 of which are en-suite. I adore my en-suite. I have wanted one since I was about 11 and stayed in a friend’s house where they had them, and now finally have my own at the ripe old age of 25 (ahem). Been so useful due to all the midnight weeing (and the morning, mid morning, afternoon, every 5 minutes weeing too, sigh). The shower needs tweaking as it is scaling at the moment while Ellie seems to have the opposite problem of it being fairly tepid in hers, but these are teething problems that we can get sorted as the weeks go by.
Kids are all in schools within the first week. Win!
My minnie is commuting at the weekends up to us at the moment, back working at the MoD but still in Hertfordshire with the plan to transfer to a nearer base in a few months. There is a room here for him with a delicious en-suite, must be the luckiest slave ever!
Speaking of slave, I may have ‘borrowed’ a credit card for urgent house shopping… We moved without much furniture, deliberately, as this house is just so different. It is a brand new, never lived in before build and a lot of the vintage or old fashioned pieces from the Manor either just don’t go, or they are a bit battered for a new style of living.
Working with Ellie who is a designer, we have been able to plan out the decor, furniture and feature pieces we need to make the house truly stunning and started to buy them this week. Trips to every major furniture store within about 20 miles, including IKEA, Argos, Harveys and more has yielded a new HUGE sofa/suite on the way, an absolute TON of Stuff from IKEA as well as smaller furnishings from Argos and the like. It’s going to be gorgeous, can’t wait until it is finished ans I can upload the pictures to show you all!
Of course Ellie and I still found time to seek out the local salons for hair appointments and a deluxe nail bar as we needed our Bio Sculpture nails redoing. The gels from last time lasted really well despite the packing, the moving, her horses etc – so they are definitely worth the money. Last time she went for sparkly black and I had purple, this time we both settled on a sparkly blood red… I love them!
The pregnancy is progressing well, 6 months now, 26 weeks on Monday. I can sometimes see the kicks from the outside now! Due 22 October and home birth all looks like a go, so will have to coat a room in dust sheets, old towels, sheets underlaid by PVC sheets or something ~laughs~ Also will be getting a birthing pool, just in case. I didn’t fancy the water last time and I don’t think I will this time either – but want to be prepared. Speaking of which, I need to get my birth plan sorted…
My bedroom area will be black and purple I have decided, with a modern chrome/stone bathroom. It’s very hotel room-like. Appealing to my hotel fetish there! I have the plans down for the extra furniture and furnishings I need, it will just take it of time to get them all and get it finished.
I definitely want one of those pop-art, silhouette style black Audrey Hepburn on canvas style prints, very iconic and I find her very inspiring too.
Hair appointment all booked for Thursday afternoon, a big change happening. Yes, you will get pictures! Well – that is, if they don’t butcher it… getting not only a cut but a colour…
I think those are the main updates… more to follow when I have time/energy!
